SOLEM COLLECTION - STOCK CARS

If there's a bigger Dayton Speedway fan than Scott Solem (kb8zcb@netzero.net), I've yet to meet them.  Scott seldom missed a Dayton race and was even an after-hours visitor to the track (those stories are best left to another time).  Scott also got his hands dirty helping John Leach, Sr., a car owner and driver in the Midwest Modified division.

When he wasn't helping in the pits, Scott remembered to take his camera with him to Dayton Speedway.  In the end, fortunately (for us) he filled about seven photo albums with his Dayton photographs.  Here are just a few of the stock car photos that Scott's agreed to share with the FODS Nation.

I'll be adding more photos to this page as time permits.

(Above) Springfield resident John Wilson was a frequent visitor to Dayton Speedway, as was L. J. Linnes (below).

(Above) Jim Fredericks has had a long and illustrious career and in 1980 he brought this car to battle on the Dayton Speedway banking.  (Below) Three Late Model racers battle the track and each other circa 1980.

(Above) We've all lost a wheel from time to time, but the hapless driver of #2 seems to have bigger problems.
